Maybe the guys can take the measurement of their waist (around the belly button) inches and add their inches in height to provide the famous waist/height combo! For an extra 49 cents you can super-size.

I understand that eHarmony matches people according to personality traits. The thing I don't understand is the height selection. A match can select what height they want their match to be; however, when it comes to weight or body type preference, there is no selection.

Do you think this is biased towards women's tastes? I usually never hear men say "She was 2" shorter than me...it's not going to work". I have met several women who state they would never date a guy shorter than them. Fine, that is their choice. So why does eHarmony have a selection for this? Really, what does height have to do with personality traits anyways?

Regarding body type (usually men's tastes, as they are very visual)...Body type can reflect lifestyle habits. These habits include leisure time activities and personal choices, whatever they may be. I'm not here to judge other's lifestyle habits. I do know what my choices are and what I'm looking for. So why doesn't eHarmony have a selection for this? Seems only fair correct?
just put it in your profile - it is what you're looking for. if you say it tastefully (i've seen a few) then women should get it and only get in touch or respond if they fit the bill.

E-harmony does not make you list body type. Men are saying that it gives women the advantage when choosing who to communicate with or not.

Citychick,

This is a wonderful idea. It is a courtesy to let matches know where you stand up front when preferences can’t be filtered by settings. Keep in mind that this works best when you state what you do like vs. what you don’t.

I disagree with you that body type can reflect lifestyle habits.

I weigh 165lbs and i am extremely active. I gained 45 pounds in the last 3 years, not from being lazy or eating poorly, but because I was extremely stressed and physically abused. So a persons weight does not mean they are active or lazy or any more or less of a person.

I think an "insanity" rating would be helpful. Scale of one to ten. I'd be 6 or 7.. I feel it is only fair to caution folk as to what to expect. I like to self-select out the faint hearted or needy ones.
