Like most on these boards, I'm not getting the hits I hope. I figure some it may be where I live, but I doubt that.
1. What are you most passionate about? Constantly challenging myself and seeking new knowledge. I am passionate about those I care for and those things that I enjoy. I'm a man that has many interests from sports and books to film, music and museums to finding new places to which to travel and also spending time reflecting and relaxing. I enjoy finding things off the beaten path but I also like familiarity. Sports teams: New Jersey Devils, Chelsea FC and I'm trying to become a Washington Nationals fan.

6. What is the most important quality that you are looking for in another person?I want a woman who's intelligent with a sense of humor and is sure of themselves. I want someone who gets me; a woman who doesn't take everything seriously, but knows when to be serious. I think the ability to laugh at seemingly stupid or pointless things is key and to have a sense of humor that could border on sarcasm and self-deprecation, someone who enjoys a quiet night in as much as a great night out. A woman who enjoys isn't afraid of new things, but enjoys things that are tried and true, someone who wants to share her passions with me.

7. I have a bevy of items that interest me and am passionate about. I'm a little quiet and reserved at first, but that vanishes quickly. I'm more than a guy who loves sports, or movies. I'm quite well-rounded and enjoy a good conversation about everything and nothing.

7. What is the ONE thing that people DON'T notice about you right away that you WISH they WOULD? hmmm....I'm tall (damn, that's appearance), I have a beard (damn again...) Likely I'd say my dry sense of humor, I an be very sarcastic and a smarta**
9. How do you typically spend your leisure time? Finding new ways to entertain myself via traveling or around the area, I enjoy resting and relaxing when I can, taking time to reflect. I try to be around those I care about as often as I can. I enjoy being in cities. I practice yoga several times a month and have been enjoying it. I like cooking my own food, particularly grilling or making my own wings, I love a good meal at a nice restaurant or pub along with a Guinness. I love great films and enjoyably bad movies and relaxing on a train. Sometimes I don't get much leisure time with school, but happy hour with a few friends and a good nap after school always works.

10.
10. What are five things that you "can't live without?"
1. Good food. 2. plenty of interesting books and movies. 3. My big chair (it's seriously amazing). 4. Jimmy Eat World and Coheed and Cambria music. 5. Trips to Philly and travel in general

13. Additional information. I live in Maryland (about 45 minutes from Philly), but am from New Jersey (yes, I've heard all the "what exit" jokes and no, I'm not in the mafia. Before finishing up my teaching certification, I spent four years working as a sports writer for newspaper on the Jersey Shore. Favorite tv shows: Lost, The Office, 30 Rock, The West Wing, Arrested Development.

Try participating in the specific threads for profile topics which are currently underway.

Generally speaking, you have a lot of lists as answers when the questions ask for one answer. Pick key ideas and expand on that, drop the repetition.

You can’t keep referencing sense of humor, and then not make us laugh (though it’s not important how I react, you need some ladies’ views.)

Haha. Okay, D_Lion; I’ll see what I can do…

Welcome to eHA, Carraway. I've made a few comments on your profile below. I think you've included a lot of good information, but it could use some "tightening up."

When you say you are not getting the "hits" you are wanting, do you mean with women being the first to contact you or responses to your first contact. If it is the former, I would suggest not waiting for them as a lot of women don't like making the first move (including me, although I have a few times). Outdated thinking I know, but that's the way some (not all of course) of us think. We would rather be pursued.
If you are not getting responses with your initial inquiries, remember that there are a lot of "non-member" or "inactive" profiles that you are probably being matched with so it is not necessarily you.
Also, everyone wants to know if it is the wording in their profile but sometimes it is simply a matter of physical chemistry and someone doesn't like your photo(s). For example, Brad Pitt does nothing for me as far as attraction goes, but that is not to say he isn't a good looking guy.
Sometimes it just simply takes time and eventually the right one will come along.
