I live in a town of about 40,000, but over 70% of that is under 25 and most of the rest are well over 40. I've never physically met someone on eHarmony who lived closer than 100 miles away. I ran out of local matches a year ago, though a few trickle in every week or so.

Well...

I think my matches are all dried up. I haven't got any matches for a few days. Obviously eHarm and other dating sites bode better for those who live in densly populated areas. It's a numbers game.

Me...?

I live in a town with 150k people about two hours from Chicago and 2 hours from Madison. So, unless I increase my search radius; I'll be somewhat limited. I';ve had about 100 matches in a month. We'll see what happens...

So, what's the population in your area?
Hi KungFuFtr,

I am from a small town 2 hours from Denver and about an hour from Laramie.

Recently, I have also not received many matches for days. As a rule ,maybe a few a week. My subscription is to expire on Tuesday. I just found this site 2 days ago and have been reading some of the discussions. Which has been very helpful to me and informative. The number of matches have not increased for me,as I have read is the feeling of other members. One on Friday, none yesterday or today. The radious a have used for my matches is 100 miles.

Good Luck to you on your search! SKE

I'm in the Dayton Ohio metropolitan area which is about 1.5 million....funny thing is I'm an hour or less from Cincinnati... little over 2 million, and just over an hour from Columbus 1.7 million. So that gives me a pool of over 5 million

Now here's the fun part...after the initial wave of matchesI get maybe 1 a week on the 60 mile radius ...covers all butmaybe halfof Columbus. So what the heck I go 120 miles...covers all the above plus a bit more. I get maybe 5-8 a day with that setting.... from North Carolina, Florida, Nevada. Seems that eharmony uses a slightly different gps system than the rest of the world. It's at least a bit of fun over coffee seeing what new state will appear.

Nevada???

Sorry, but I live there, and that's a bit too much of a drive for me!

Unless you set distance as "very important" in your flexible matching criteria, you are likely to get matches from all over the US no matter what distance value in miles you set. Of course, after changing the flex match setting you'll still get matches 180-200 miles away with a 120 mile setting, but I don't think you'll get North Carolina, Florida, or Nevada. Well, *maybe* you'll still get the very northwest corner of North Carolina.

The two of you could meet up half way; say... in Omaha.

i live 3 miles from a town of 159. 75 miles from the nearest Home Depot (this is a good thing, actually). The closes match I ever got was actually the personnel director where I worked...we both laugh about that. Otherwise, it was ONLY a 1.5 hr drive. And the dude closed for "distance".
