I would really think that fake profiles would be caught by eharmony! I just got a match who says his name is Smootzers; that he is a doctor; and one of the things he is most thankful for is his sexiness! Of course no picture! I also had another match a few days ago who said his name was If.

I got a match a couple of months back that said her name was Sweetie. She did have a complete profile with photos and she told me her real name as soon as Open Communication. She poofed early on so I don't know if she just thought using Sweetie was cute or if she was too scared to use her real first name.

Like someone said before. If you can't at least use your first name only then something is not on the up and up!

My favorite has been... the profile portion had mostly XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and the one one thing he was thankful for was sex. Well at least it made me laugh!

I don't use my first name. It's very unique. Not a custom job, but it's like the 4700th most popular name for a female in the US. There are 150,000 people in my town and only one other person with my name (according to Google).

After having had a would-be suitor/not-quite-stalker look me up on the Internet and contact me at work, I don't include my first name in my profile; I use a nickname. I do include photos though.

Lots (well, some) of the people here have posted that they are "worried" about security/privacy, and thats why they don't post Photos, blah, blah, blah. (Yeah right).

So if they are so worried about security/privacy, I would RATHER they make up a screen name for their Profile on EHarmony proper and POST a Photo, rather than have them use their real first name, and hide their Photo.

I consider using a "screen" name as the least of the 2 evils!

PS. On the other hand, how about those Matches that goofed up when they first signed up and have their screen name set to their First AND Last name!

Now *THAT* I will give, is a privacy risk.

I saw one last night that all his profile said was NOT A MEMBER over and over again and then it said I wish eh would stop giving out my profile. Apparently he doesn't get that it's HIS profile & he can hide it if he wants to. Was kinda like "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" remember that from the shining? It kinda freaked me out and obviously closed it. Haven't run into fake profiles yet...I don't think! It's hard for me to fathom that people would actually do that!

I got someone who wrote in his profile that he likes 'porn' -- what? Why would EH even let a profile like that get circulated?
