But I gotta tell ya if thats all the matches they have within 30 miles I won't be signing up for real. Eight guys I sent questions to 3 of them. And I can't see their pictures. Can they see mine? Does anyone believe that personality test thing is an accurate reflection of themselves? It sure takes forever to fill it out.

eH only sends a certain number per day. I turned on my matching yesterday, received 6 matches yesterday and 6 today.

If you are on a free trial, you cannot see pictures but a paying member can see your pictures.

When I first read my Personality Profile I thought that it in no way reflected who I was. I then decided to go through it very, very carefully and think about exactly what it did say about me and I decided that for the most part it is a quite accurate description of my personality. There are a couple of points that I disagree with where it says I am artistic, I am creative but not artistic and there is a difference. It also provided me with some clues as to why most people don't quite "get" me.

If you do not believe that your Personality Profile reflects who you are it could be that you don't know yourself or you did not accurately answer the questions.

The only people who 'get' me are other engineers.....and my therapist.

For me, the personality profile was pretty accurate.

Being in rural southern WV, if I narrowed my search to just 30 miles, I wouldn't get any matches. It's really fustrating, but I've had to setmine on 300 miles just to get some activity and I've been getting 7 or 8 every day. Of course, 75% of the women close me because I'm too far away, but at least I get to look at thier profile to see who's out there, and just maybe I might stumble across that special someone.

Isigned up for the free weekend too but ended up signing for three months "Buy 1, get 2 months free" deal because I was tried of not being able to see the pictures. And if you started communicating with someone and time expired and you haven't exchanged email addresses, then you're out of luck.

The personality profile was pretty accurate for me. What irritates me are those guys that don't complete it and/or post a photo. Why are you here if you're not willing to take 30 minutes and try to put your best self out there?

ALERT: Cynical response ahead....

While the personality assessment may be an accurate portrayal of me (I'd have to read it again to be sure) it doesn't matter because the matches are not (an accurate portryal of who would be of interest to me and perhaps visa versa). And after more than 470 matches in more than three months it no longer matters. I may meet "him" on eH, eA, in line at Starbucks, at the dry cleaners, in a parking lot (this became a possibility last Saturday when a man made a pass at me in the Target lot. While extremely flattering it just wasn't a match for me), or somewhere else or....it might not....

I started out on eA almost pleading for advice on how to keep the faith and hope alive....three months later I offer my advice: don't take eH seriously nor make it your only vehicle to find someone to date. While I think it is A method, it is a passive aggressive vehicle, much like posting one's resume on Monster and hoping the employer of choice will call the next day. I found that I was burdening eH with my hope of and faith in "delivering" me my Soulmate. That's not fair. I'm not saying you would do that, I'm sharing my experience.

I'm no longer a member. But I will admit, I turned my matching back on because of the Free Weekend. I didn't realize we couldn't see photographs, but I'm using that as a way to push past my superficiality. A member initiated OC and I accepted.

Blessings,

Marianna

My assessment is that the personality profile uses several questions to screen out liars and depressives, but is otherwise not used in the matching, though it displays a few “summaries” on your profile. The “data” elements (age, wants children) are used in matching.

I think if you give it time you will get matches you like on occasion – how many will be a function of where you live, how much distance you accept, and how open you are on things like age and children. Some of these will be customers, some will not. Some will reject you; some will want to go out with you. Kind of like life.

Actually this is going pretty well so far. Two of the three guys are communicating with me- maybe its their free weekend too? I am hoping to get to the open communication thing and exchange email addresses before this weekend is over. Think that'll work?

But I stand by my the personality profile thing is BS. I have taken numerous personality tests and always different results. And No I don't have multiple personalities.

Oh and even though I can't see pictures I do know what one of my matches looks like cause I cyber stalked him on another site. And he's HOT!

Updates to follow.
