So I'm sure most people here have read this:

"We do use physical appearance as a factor in our matching process and we encourage all members to post a photo and make it available to matches when they feel comfortable. "

What does this mean?? Does EH really match you based on they think whether you and your matches are equally attractive?

I've always assumed that the way this is done is by having the profiles set up to include photos. So, eH first matches on the 29 factors, then we restrict the matches further by setting our distance/drinking/smoking/etc. preferences, and then we take a look at 'em.

There is also some element of appearance in the following matching factor, but that's a different sort of variable than actual appearance:

Physicality
How do you relate physically with the world? How do you relate physically with yourself? Are you energetic, athletic and constantly in motion? Or are you more comfortable and happy walking than running? Feelings and thoughts which revolve around your physical life form an important aspect of who you are. The dimensions which deal with your Physicality include: Energy: Physical, Passion: Sexual, Vitality and Security, Industry, and Appearance.

I hadn't read that one before, PY.Where can I find the blurb?? If it is the case, I'm curious how can that be??

I'm going to reserve the rest of my comment for now and see if one of the mods can clarify.

Not what they think. What the member and her match think. If you remember, one of the first questions they asked in the questionnaire are "Rate the following words as to how each one describes your physical appearance." and "How important is it that your partner be physically attractive?". That's it. I hope this answers your question, PY.

I don't remember this, I guess I should have done some print screens when I took the Questionnaire so I would know what I had answered. It would appear that I did not correctly answer them.

Neardc, Physicality is not a matching factor. It's a group of matching factors. The "actual appearance" factor is called Appearance. Appearance's description is listed somewhere under Physicality.

Right; "appearance" is one of several factors (dimensions)in the physicality cluster. I didn't mean to convey that I thought that "physicality"was one of the individual dimensions; it is a cluster, though.
