Booooo! That drives me up the wall because now I know I'm going to get IceBreakers from people who aren't even registered users. That puts me at a disadvantage and is just a waste of time. Booooo! Not fair. Totally not fair.

I on the other hand, for some reason, can't get registered on this thing, so I can't talk during normal times, so I am kind of looking forward to it. I guess it just depends which side you're on, and in my case I have no side, I am in the middle. Stuck in the crack. But once it's over with, I can't talk to anyone soooo...

Yes, yes, another Free Communication Weekend starts Friday November 21 at 12:01am and goes through Sunday November 23 midnight!


Like Inlovewithhim2 said, there really are two sides to this. And I hope I can encourage both sides to see this as an opportunity, not an empty exercise.


If you had previous experiences where things didn't work out, I'm sorry to hear that. That kind of disappointment is not easy and we don't want to disregard the frustration involved with this process. At the same time, I would like to offer some encouragement; past experiences don't have to determine the future. The right person could start communicating with you now, or tomorrow, or the next day. A mindset of perseverance is very helpful in this process.


We have found that many of our members will communicate with matches in whom they are interested, and after Free Communication Weekend and many of them will subscribe to continue getting to know someone who they feel has potential.


Just to clarify, Sleepydiva -- the Icebreaker feature is something that both paying and non-paying members can always use once for each match to show interest. This weekend you have the opportunity if you are not yet paid to get into communication with other matches. If you are a subscriber, you never know who could get online and start connecting with you.


Inlovewithhim2, I would like to see why you are "stuck". I will send you a private message and see if we can fix your situation.

Even though my luck has changed slightly this past couple weeks, I am sorry to play devil advocate a bit regarding this....


No doubt that there are some people out there who got matched during the three day weekend, or have gotten married, etc...become boyfriend/girflriend. We have no doubt about that.


But what I think some members are wondering in terms of percentage...what is the SUCCESS RATE of two people not only being matched, BUT also able to carry themselves into open communication?


We've seen THREE couples. How many members are there that are still single? Three success stories is not necessarily a breath of fresh air for a lot of members here. EVEN if the success rate is only say...30%, that's at least a concrete number....maybe enough to give a little boost, maybe convert some of us from being merely cautiously hopeful to more of a believer in EH.


Would be good to have say an official number "During Friday Nov 21st-Sunday Nov 23rd, 2008...XXX amount of people got matched through EH, and *** of them succesfully reached Open Communication stage, resulting in **% success rate.


Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part
