There was a cutearticle earlier this week in the Washington Post that features an eH "success story" (I mentioned it on another thread a couple of days ago, but someone suggested that I post it separately as well, so here you go...). The story features a couple in their 60s who met through eH and then married after courting for several years (I guess they weren't in a big rush...lol).

One comment in the article that I thought was interesting was that "EHarmony and M****, another online service, report that men and women older than 50 are the fastest-growing segment of their memberships." That doesn't say anything about the absolute numbers of folks in that age group (or what proportion they represent in the eH population), but it does indicate that online dating services are getting a little bit more grey...(not surprising, really, when you consider that it has taken longer for the over 50 group to get online than it has younger people...).

You can find the story if you go to the WP site and search for "eharmony"; the title of the piece, which appeared on 8/12,is "Filling In the Blanks, at Long Last."

Hi All,

Thanks so much, neardc, for sharing this very inspirational and interesting article!!!

I had not read it before and was especially glad to see that Don and Cynthia were matched because both were open to meeting someone outside of their local geographic area -- he was from Little Rock and she from a rural town in Texas. It is hard for many members to believe that you can successfully find the love of your life hundreds of miles away, but it happens quite frequently on eHarmony.

For those who would like to read the Washington Post article, here is the link:

Also, I encourage everyone to click on the following links, which take you to particular sections of our Singles Site Success Stories, where you can read stories of members 50 and over who met on eHarmony and also stories of successful couples who meet over long distances.

All the best,
