You may or may not. There's no guarantees. I have met and had relationships with people I've connected with through eHarmony as well as that other service. At the momentI have been dating a guy now for four months that I got matched up with on eHarmony. He's great! However, it takes a lot of time and patience. I've been doing online dating since I was 27 (and I'm 32) and have probably had four or five relationships from it. Don't expect high quality perfect-for-you matches all the time. I'd go several months before I'd get a match that even remotely seemed like someone that I might be interested in. I would get people that would drop of the face of the earth in the middle of communication. I'd get close and I'd close other people.

Hi Satchuna,

Gr8galmv is right. Approaching eHarmony with a positive attitude and with patience is the way to go. We have a lot of resources on our web site so you can make the most of your time. Even in your eHarmony account, you will find links on the Photos page and the About Me (Introductory Information) page in the top right corner in a little green tab that says “Advice”.

Our Customer Care agents are expert in helping you with profile enhancement as well. You can contact them by going to the eHarmony home page, www.eharmony.com, clicking on the Help link at the bottom of the page, and sending a message. Just make sure to get an incident number so you know we received the message.

Keep in mind that our Success Stories report an average time of 3 – 6 months before they found each other, and that is just the average. Everybody’s experience varies. But you definitely can find love here, 236 people a day on average actually get married through eHarmony.

Here’s also a link to our 5 Keys to Success video so you know what to expect:

Best of luck,

Kate

Hi vlad,

Very happy to hear that you know of two people who have been successfully matched on eHarmony and that their success is what prompted you to join our service. Many members are inspired to join because they know someone who met that special person on eHarmony or read the many wonderful stories shared by successful couples on our Success stories page, http://www.eharmony.com/success, or posts by successful members here on eHarmony Advice.

I hope that you have taken the time to read Kate's previous message. As she mentions, on average, successful members dedicated 3-6 months to their search before being successfully matched. So finding that special person, even on eHarmony, is a process that takes time.

Also, she mentioned our Customer Care team. If you have any questions or concerns about your eHarmony experience, please do not hesitate to contact us. Agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

All the best.

eH has not been working for me, that is to say the matches I've been delivered do not communicate or worse don't even try to see how well we match. I've had more matches closed for some ambiguous reason but the truth is they aren't interested in me thinking they can find someone better "HA!".

I know why it doesnt work for me, because I don't look like Bradd Pitt

I have a good friend who found her husband here. For her, it took about a month to find the guy. I decided to give it a shot, since I heard all about her stories. Got a ton of matches, sent a lot of requests for communication, and was closed quite often. Like what many others say, I might not be the best looking but I have tried a few different approaches. About 3 weeks ago I got my first open communication and we met 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard from her since, but I am not closed . I don't know what to think...whether it is me or what, but eh...I can't say I didn't try. So just today, I canceled my subscription and everything. I can go to a bar and find someone to lower my self-esteem, I don't need the internet to help me on that, which is about all that EH has done for me.

So my opinion, it works for some, but not for others. Such is life, I guess. So there you go, 2 people the same age and it worked for one and not the other.

OK I got something rather ignorant from another user from this thread. The assumption was that I don't like myself, that is not true. Granted I don't like my home town but I do like myself, I like where I am spiritually, educationally, physiologically, psycologically, just not geographically.

My question in responce to that was aside from the photos we post how are we expected to say "I like myself" in the questionaire on eH?
