You did the right thing...and it is out of your hands..He will get the care he needs.....It still has nothing to do with you...his ramblings were symptoms...and certainly not something to get involved in....He needs to get the help he is getting...Good luck...

I had made his friend/roomate aware of his threats that day. Yesterday his roomate called to let me know my ex was in the hospital under suicide watch for the past 17 hours. After that he would be moved to a VA mental hospital for further evaluation. I am just so sad about everything.

Been there. My ex-husband was notorious for this type of behavior. He once called me sixty something times in a half an hour span, and had the paramedics call me when he ran off the road while being under the influence of lord knows what prescription drug he'd overindulged in. Sounds callous, but I got to the point where if I did answer I would say - "Why are you calling me. Please contact one of your relatives or your doctor, we are no longer together." BTW he is very much alive today and supposedly prospering. Do not let yourself be manipulated. When he realizes it's not working he will become ugly and vindictive but he will eventually go away.
