US relationships: Which do you see more--minority females with Caucasian males, or minority males with Caucasian females?

I see far more white women with non-white men, than the opposite.

When I was a child, I can count on the fingers of one hand the mixed-race schoolmates I had (not at one time - over my entire childhood.)

Today, I am likely to see as many children in a week.

Race, clearly, is falling away as a mating criteria.

For myself, I don't screen on race at all any more.

Well, my perspective is definitely skewed by where I live. Hawaii has the highest %age of mixed marriages in the nation. I don't have stats, but mixed marriages are pretty much the norm. "Hapa" (local-speak for mixed, "half") are everywhere. I can't say as I see males or females being more open to mixed race relationships. They are everywhere.

In my area it depends on the race. African-american men are more likely with white women than the opposite. Asian women are more likely with white men (lucky for me since I like Asian men). Latino men and women seem to be roughly equal (although latino men with white women is probably a bit more common). Indians are new enough to my area that I haven't seem any interracial couples.

I live in an area that is not very diverse ethnically compared to the rest of the country. What I generally see here for mixed-race couples is likely to be a white woman and a black man or an Asian woman and a white man. It has been like this for decades. Most of them are military families.

Generally in the United States, there are more mixed-race couples than ten years ago. I read a study not too long ago (was widely reported in the news) about this. I do think that African-American men with Caucasian women is more common, as well as Asian-American women with Caucasian men. I can't explain why this is so but it is very interesting to study. I'd like to read your paper lol.

I am Asian and my boyfriend is white. Honestly, I never got along with Asian men and it might just be the luck I've had. There have just been too many cultural clashes - which is probably surprising to hear. I grew up strongly independent and not that immersed in my culture. Most Asian men who grew up in the States that I have met - are immersed in the culture and we just don't get along. I have no racial preferences generally - just worked out this way.

Yesterday, while walking around town for the 4th, I saw so many mixed-race couples and children. It was awesome - I am glad to see that race is less of a factor these days.
