My GF doesn't like sports and has no interest in going to sporting events, so here is the question... If the SJ Sharks advance to the Stanley Cup, say against Boston, do I invite a friend or my former wife? I'm, in part, thankful for her introducing to ice hockey back when we were a couple and I have a good relationship with her and her husband (no kids w/ her). In a way, for me, it's acknowledging to the former wife,
that she made a difference for me in our past by turning me onto hockey. She is a Boston fan and I would certainly like to watch SJ thump them in the finals! I would ask her husband if it was cool first, before I invited her. Or do I invite another Boston fan whom I'm friends with to drink beer, eat peanuts and scream till we are horse? If I go w/ a male friend, it's my treat, but if I go with her she would need to cough up $ for the seat w/me and would have to buy her own consumables. What might I do? By the way, if my GF is uncomfortable w/ this I would respect her point of view and skip the ex completely.

Invite your friend. Leave the ex out of it unless you would like two exes, and don't drag the GF to something she's not going to enjoy. Your friend is going to enjoy this game with you--so go have fun!

If I was your girlfriend, and you invited your ex-wife to the game, I think I would scream at you until I was hoarse.

What are you thinking?!

Um, if my boyfriend invited his ex-wife to a sporting event he would soon be my ex-boyfriend. I like to see my boyfriends leave their Exs where they belong - the past (unless kids are involved).

If this is the same woman in your other posts that you have had ups/downs with...then I wouldn't do anything to rock the boat here...(one said that you put a ring on her finger..are you all engaged?)...

Just take a friend...why do someting that would upset your girlfriend...

And I hope Boston wins!!!! (sorry..I've been a fan for 25 years)

If it was me, I'd sell the ticket and go out with the gf.

Agreed, take the friend.

Taking the ex is such a bad, bad idea, I'm amazed it's even on the table for consideration.
