Recently we've had threads regarding if people care what profession (and income) their potential partners have. Really, I have a hunch that what people think they want in a partner doesn't always reflect what they actually want. Past behavior is probably more representative of one's real wants than speculation.

So, I think we can make our inquiry into this topic more accurate by changing the question to be: What professions have your past partners (or at least people you have dated more than a couple times) had?

Lots of variation with me...

-Fast food worker...this was my first GF in my teens, and I worked there, too.

-A couple were unemployed at the time I dated them.

-Worked at a printing/mail order company...my former spouse...I worked there too, probably part of our problem.

-Former cop, Sheriff's Dept. Was running her own small P.I. company when we dated.

-Licensed massage therapist, LMT. Also sold Real Estate.

-Recuiter for a job agency.

Lawyer, car dealership owner, financial advisor, restaurant owner, student, grocery store manager, fleet & lease manager and business investor in no particular order.

Every man I've dated seriously has been some variety of IT Professional. I tend to think it's just a coincidence, but I'm not sure what that says about me...
