This is more of a light-hearted post just to see how men in particular really think. I know women sometimes do this, this being to make casual jokes about being married and making off-handed comments about what they would like for their wedding. Do men also do similar things such as making comments about what kind of invites they would like to have, discussing the color scheme of the wedding, etc. Is it all fun and jokes or sometimes, is there just a bit of truth behind those statements and it is one of the ways that you may be displaying an intent to one day seriously settle down with your significant other?

A male colleague did this, but with specific areas. He had lovely hand-writing, so he hand-wrote all the wedding invitations and name tags for the reception tables. He was also into cars and went into great detail with all the kinds of hire cars available to use as their wedding cars. Everything else, he mostly just agreed with whatever his bride wanted.

I've never in my life heard a man make a statement that one day in the future he'd like such-and-such at his wedding.

I've heard and been in the discussions, in all seriousness. It was light hearted and just something to think about. Like outside or in a church.

I literally laughed out loud when I visualized the invitation comment. I don't know why.

I've always felt that I wanted to be involved in it. Otherwise the guy doesn't care and she does and it can be a rift in the months leading up to the date.

I think they both would share more similar memories of the event down the road.

And, I don't think I could make her worry about that much stuff all by herself.

You aren't alone on this! Then again, we planned our wedding starting Tuesday (setting the place), talked with the clergy Thursday night (setting the time), and then told my family that we would be getting married Saturday at noon at the car show It was simple, easy, cheap (free), and fit both of our personalities. The idea of having a big to do and inviting people you don't really know didn't appeal to either of us
