This might be a side point, but unless you are an attorney you should not be helping people on legal matters, regardless of how well-read you think you are on the subject.

How you acted toward her wasn't very nice.

For some reason I really hope that D_Lion comments on this.
I like a good counter point, what should I have done ?

She knew you had romantic intentions and used you.

It's an extremely valuable lesson that all men must learn first hand.

There is no such thing as friends between men and women.

Women like that, I agree. It's probably not a good idea to befriend a woman in which you let the cat out of the bag, aka, you are romantically interested in her.

You were a good friend to her, but was she a good friend to you? Authentic friendships are always reciprocal. If you had romantic designs on her while pretending to accept the platonic terms, then you're doing a disservice to yourself. I've fallen prey to users too (from victim to victor) - they are the people who mostly only contact you when they want something. It feels good to weed them out of your garden. Who is worse, users, or the people who "allow" themselves to be used? The rub is, with these charlatans, by the time you figure out what they're all about in relation to you it is too late - they got what they wanted and moved on. It takes different forms, sexual exploitation, money, favors.... look, on some level you can feel it when someone isn't genuine, so listen to your gut, instinct, intuition. You think you're earning brownie points because you're being a good person, coming through for them in a pinch - but these types are neurotic - and sometimes pathological (anti-social personality disorder, not to be confused with asocial types), so they don't even like good people. They might even have a mocking attitude toward good, honest folks.

Having said that, all I can say is, She must be really good looking.

Just to make clear when i say friends I MEAN IT, she was not the first girl who said just friends but one of the few I kept (tryed) instead telling them i dont need anymore friends. I would say I am keen to filter her elk out she just bested me. I did get word today however, my help was so effective she might be working with me again, this what they call a Pyrrhic victory right
