If the card in the flowers contained tickets to a show she's been dying to see or maybe a day spa then i'd say you couldn't go far wrong.
That would quadruple the budget, unless he has a coupon for 50% of...wait....almost forgot...no coupons!

It was a small teddy bear. Maybe six inches in height. It had a shirt on it with a slogan. I thought it was cute. Something different than just regular flowers. Got it from 800flowers.com. Thought to be original. The bear said have a great day and a heart tattooed on its arm.

Yep...flowers, chocolates, gifts are so standard and unoriginal.

That's why I don't give anything at all!

I knew someone who gave a "boquet" of green bell peppers once ... seriously.

Was actually QUITE effective.

The flower/teddy bear/plant I sent arrived yesterday around 5:00 PM at her work. She sent me a text about an hour after they arrived saying they were cute and she thought I was adorable. Said I thought they could brighten up your day. She replied back and said they sure have. And that was it.

I was expecting more dialog. Am I reading too much into it?
I think her response is 'normal'. Here, I'll share something one of my staff does. Her hubby sends her flowers to work. She sends a TXT of her thanks.

Then she spends the next hour taking pics of the flowers and discussing them with every female in the office who walks by our desk.

Yea, when she called me last night that is what she told me she/they did. Weird.
