I'm betting I know the answer to THAT question -- but what do you guys think about this, in general?

What do you think this woman's getting herself into?

And what would a man's incentive be to enter into this type of an arrangement?

What's a man's incentive to ever enter into any type of arrangement?

As the Reverend Dave Chappelle put it, "a woman's test in life is material, a man's test in life is a woman"

Short answer - NO!

First you have to assume this is legitimate, and not some kind of scam or propaganda site. My first thought when I see that is 'scam.'

But assuming it's legitimate, I'm sure there are plenty of men out there who would marry her just because she's good looking and willing to marry him.

Which means, of course, she's likely to get offers from the sleaziest and/or most desperate of men. Probably an abusive/manipulative man who will use the weakness she is advertising against her, to make her his personal servant. There will be no love, and he knows from the start all he has to do is threaten divorce to scare her into submitting to whatever he wants.

Of course, maybe she's thinking that all she has to do is renew her insurance / change the policy, then she can divorce again and move on to the next John.

If it's real, and she's honestly that desperate, I feel sorry for the woman. But that situation is going to end up all kinds of ugly. Not the wisest strategy for finding a husband.

And I have to wonder, what's wrong with her that she can't get anyone she knows to marry her? A woman who looks like that shouldn't have too much trouble.

I'm betting I know the answer to THAT question --

If "you" screen your partners on income, wealth, occupation, etc, "you" are doing exactly that.

If "you" evaluate your partner by whether he pays for the date, is generous toward "you," etc, "you" are doing exactly that.

In other words, some large percentage of women not only would, but insist on it.

Oh, it is real, not a scam. I saw a snippet of her on one of the AM talk shows. They showed her standing in front of the estimated 20 pill bottles she has to take from every day. Yikes!

She said she doesn't care about looks, really only cares if you have good insurance, i.e. a low deductible. She has to assume her new "husband" is going to want all the "bennies" of marriage, i.e. the physical aspect. Or does she just assume this will be a roommate type of deal?

Not withstanding that the biggest difference between her and the common woman is publicity, marital success is largely random anyway.

You meet someone by chance. Today I joined a dating site, as did you; tonight I went out, as did you ...

Research has shown that people with arranged marriages are as happy as those who follow a "western" arcetype; ergo, why not use a little faith?

Marrying for health insurance is not an arranged marriage; therefore the likelihood of success cannot be estimated based on that. Arranged marriages run the spectrum of caring parents seeking suitable spouses for their children to authoritative patriarchs forcing their daughters to marry against their will for the monetary benefit of the family.

Divorces in the first scenario might be lower as the parents could show more wisdom in choosing a spouse then the young person. Divorce rates in the second scenario would of course also be lower but not for an entirely different reason - divorce is clearly not an option. Unfortunately the marriage for insurance deal bears more resemblance to the later.

I think that people actually do that... they may not tell their mate that though.

Actually, if enough guys are attracted then she could actually have a selection of men to date & choose from. Not so different than online dating... she has just stated that she wishes to get married at a certain time.

It could work out for some & be a disaster for others... that is the case in any other situation as D_Lion stated.
