I personally think music is very therapeutic and can make a world of difference when in a bad mood. List some songs that helped you move on- but not love songs because those make matters worse! Rather, songs with an inspirational or "you can do it" type of positive attitudes. The one song that helped me the most was Courage by Authority Zero. Here's the lyrics:

So you say you're on your own
And nothing's going right
Fist to fist and heart to heart
You get back up and fight

And now...
You're torn like a flag on a battleground
Stepped on and beaten down
But somehow, yes somehow
You still manage, yeah you manage to survive
Manage to survive.

Yeah it's your Courage
Take 'em on, take 'em out
Take a stand, take a bow
It's your courage
Take 'em on, take 'em out
Take a stand, take a bow

So now you're thinking it's the end
You're stuck in your self doubt
If a picture says 1000 words
Take 'em till your words run out
Well it's a new chapter in your life
Your broken soul, your broken bones
Your broken heart, your broken bonds
But you still fight to make it right

It's last call, last chance
Line 'em up and make it last
Why wait when the days go fast
Make the call don't let it pass

Oh geez...I'm not an existential-type person..like to keep things literal and straight to the point!

With that said, Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" does it for me..

"To the left...to the left"...

"sometimes love comes around... when it knocks you down, just get back up, when it knocks you down."

and

Gloria Gaynor - I will survive!!!

"boy now go, walk out the door, don't come around now, you're not welcome anymore. weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye, you think I'd crumble, you'd think I'd lay down and die. oh, no I, I will survive."

Good song...

BTW: I know I quoted this song on another thread, but I still say "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred is the best break-up song to get you off the couch and out of a dismal mood....haha!

Yeah baby...be shagalicious and strut your stuff!!!!!...

There is another great break-up song by limpbizkit, but it has way too many expletives...

Great choice...nothing like some real hard-core to shake up a boring Saturday morning and help me forget my recent break-up!

Happy to help, nothing like good angry music! Some not so angry, Breaking Benjamin is another great group, Lovehammers, "murder on my mind" album great too. Then there is always "goodbye earl", dixie chicks
