I think what you're feeling is perfectly normal and as long as you are able to not let the feelings translate into actions that cause problems for the relationship, just riding it out might be best.

You don't say how long it's been for him but I am a big believer that it takes time to process grief. Also, I always feel better about someone who's been through that kind of tragedy having engaged in some therapy of their own.

I second the idea that his happiness with her makes him more likely to have what it takes to build a happy relationship with someone else.

I wish you all the best with this. I'm happy you've found someone. : )

Yes, Sassafras, that's exactly what it means. I know I'm going to have to move on someday. It hurts. But I'm not going to be alone the rest of my life. I'm just not made that way.

But because my husband was of such Sterling Character, for me to love again in the future.....I will need to feel that my husband would have liked him, and chosen him for a friend. Not to compare the two, but to find someone equally Worthy. That's a good thing!

If I get another chance at Love and Happiness, my husband would be my biggest fan, cheering me on, I'm certain of that.

LongSocks, if you want this man, the best thing you can do.....Love him, his children, and even his dear departed wife. You would surely have her Blessing then!
