Ok ... I know these 2 people ... an they've been friends for a really long time, they kinda lost contact for a while, but when they did meet up again, it was like they'd never been apart. Ok?

Now a few months later or so, they are together when ever they can be (meaning most every weekend till the wee hrs of the mornin and text/calling through the week), they always have an awesome time together, and it seems as though he's nudging their friendship to go further a lil at a time. Key word is seems.

Now from what I know, the mother an Aunt of this young lady keep
mentioning that she should try to offically date her great guy friend.

She's expressed that she's uncomfortable with thinkin of him in that way because they've most always jus been friends, and she dont want to lose this particular friendship, again.

They, as in the mother an aunt, are convinced that its nerves an that she's jus tryin to protect herself from getting hurt because she Really does care for this person, an she does really care but is she really jus affraid of losing the friendship? or is it somethin else? They after seeing the interactions between these 2 are convinced that he likes her in that way and that she likes him in that way as well.

Is she being chicken, or is it that she's reading this fella right an he wants to take it slow? In these last months of comunication they've escalated from innocent banter to not so innocent inuendos, that they sometimes laugh off. Or joke about, but with each passing day it gets more intense.

So my question is, what advice would ya'll give me in this situation?
Yea ,yea the lady is me an I want some advice for this. Because, with as much as I love an respect my mother an aunt, they want me to be happy, an so they see how happy I've been around him, an there fore want me to be with him, because he is a really Great Guy, and he keeps droppin these lil inuendos, which I cant really tell if he wants more or is having Fun!?!?

Please, a fresh view point or two would be much appreciated, I'm not tryin to harp on this, or make more of it than what it is, I just wanna know if what I'm seeing might be right or if what my mother an aunt are seein might be right?

I've been jus goin with the flow since the first exchange, an lettin this be what it is, but if it's gettin to be more than what I thought and I'm not really seein it, I dont want it to pass me bye.

Just take him by the hand, and say, "Come here, I want to try something.", and then draw him close and really lay a good one on his lips.

I think you should make the fisrt move, give him a kiss goodnight after you've been out. You don't want to ask your self in 30 years "what If"...

Girl!!!!!! I have been in your exact shoes....one too many times....and what you need is a "rainy street confrontation" Its that moment in the movies, where the two people are standing in the rain and confess their love and it all ends happily ever after!

NOW...that being said, life is not the movies and frankly, I think you and he both need to "fish or cut bait." Honestly - how long is a "long time" that you have been friends?? If we are talking months, then maybe give it a bit more time....but NOT too much - you will regret it. If we are talking years of this "best friendship", well, then I think you need to either be in a relationship, or move on with your life. Does he tell you about other women??? That in my experience is a big sign of "never gonna happen land."

I wasted almost 2 years of my life thinking it was gonna happen with a best guy friend. We too were inseperable....best friends on every level, together everyday. On the weekends it wasnt a question of if we were gonna be together it was a question of what we would be doing. He would tell me I was beautiful and how lucky I was gonna make some man someday, and often seemed to be "inching things forward"...but it NEVER happened....and it was a sad waste of my emotional energy thinking and hoping it was gonna. I mean, I still love him and we are "facebook friends" now...but he is married, and life has gone on.

I say, if it really has been a long time, you need to either make it happen, tell him how you feel, or move on. Good luck girl!!

It's the story of to many Chefs spoil the broth!
It's your game to play as you choose based on your comfort level. They had their shot at the gold rings and they are trying to manage your life, but also live the experience again through you. Tell them to mind their own Bee's wax,
and do what feels right for you and him but when the time is right you can have a heart to heart with him about moving to the next level and it should be painless.
