so I'd three dates with a guy and then we decided to become exclusive. honestly I don't know much about him but after start dating him, I don't really have desire dating others anymore, neither does he.

my question is when both of us need to delete our dating profile and change our facebook status? my facebook doesn't indicate my relationship status, so I plan to keep it that way for a few months to see how things are going with him; but his status shows "single, back looking, blabla" he hasn't changed it yet.

Three dates is not that much time spent together. Give it a bit more time.

Sometimes things go great in the beginning, then reality sets in. Why not wait and see that there is a real chance for a exclusive relationship first?

When you officially become boyfriend/girlfriend, and in a relationship, then you can change your status to In a relationship.

I wouldn't delete your dating profile. I would recommend hiding it or turning off matching depending on what service you are using. Especially if your subscription has time left on it.

The relationship is still young. If it was to go south (I hope this will not happen) you won't have to put up more money to rejoin.

I agree with Mr Right who by the way just updated his status to engaged very cool story)

congrats to both of you

Agreed.

But the bf/gf has to go along with it...

IMHO is very individualized decision. Changing your Facebook status is merely a signal to others (and him) how serious you are. Getting into a "you change it first" thing is adolecent. For that matter, worrying about what the other does this early on might be considered adolecent. DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS RIGHT FOR YOU. It is not like marriage. Yes, rather early on I closed my EH to new matches and started closing / informing other matches with as nice as I could put it letters explaining that I was not a player / serial dater and when I reached a certain level with a woman, did not feel comfortable at all even talking with other "prospectives." The nice thing is that with Facebook (or EH for that matter), you don't need an attorney to change status or turn matches back on.
Just my .02
DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS RIGHT (even if he does not feel the same way)

I would leave it alone or turn it off, because if it does not work out, why should you have to explain to those that you were trying to impress, that you were dumped again?

If his status on his FB page is something that bothers you, you should tell him. But three dates seems pretty short to start the bf word and gf word, unless both of you have discussed it and agreed upon it.
