You've always had this ability you've just avoided it. It's called instinct. Things are obvious to us when we are not involved but when we become involved we rationalize and justify to suit our needs or wants, and eventually, rationalize ourselves.

This is a good thing. Keep your instincts finely tuned and don't argue with them. You've accumulated them over your lifetime - let them help you. It's the one super-power we humans have.
