Many people do raise their children to conform rather than to think for themselves.
And they are not completely wrong in doing that.

The laws of the society we live in do not look kindly at members of the society, who break those laws, or sometimes, even appear to do so, just because they were thinking for themselves.

I'm not sure where I've learnt that - either by moving couches or maybe it appeared in my mind as a Socratic revelation...

A balanced approach in raising children to think for themselves as well as conforming by societal laws and regulations is one of the secrets of good parenting (in my couch-moving mind, of course).

Or is this a rule only taught to the Lunatics, who reside on the Moon?

This is because there are few visitors to the Moon, and none for awhile now, and thus the natives are bored ...

The Lunatics are never bored when certain Frogs are around

What can I say... even the Prince of Tides was (or is) affected by the Moon!

Does beer spoil after two years in the fridge? Do you like living dangerously?

Do you really have to ask this of an Aussie Lunatic? Really? (I must be forgetting that Frogs do not watch TV ads often...)

In any case, YES - I have plenty of beer in the land of Oz! I don't like it myself, but I'll gladly shout! (look up that last word in Aussie slang before jumping to all kinds of shouting conclusions, Froggie).

Beeing an Associate Professor of Australian Beer (which I do not consume myself, but all my friend and family seem to love, and apparently it's even good for my hair ), I would say the answer to your first question is "Depends on the Make and Longevity of a particular Brand".

To asnwer your second question - Apparently so, but I'm not 100% sure yet...
