I didn't mean how it looks but how it works. If she's still active and vital and he can't keep up. With most people, there's a big difference between 50 and 70, for example.

It's not the difference in ages, it's the maturity involved with each one. If the matc hwere 40 & 60, it might be a bit different. If your 40 YO is still young at heart, it might seem okay, but unless he's extraordinary, he cannot keep up with you, emotionally or physically over the next 20 years.

I'm 42 and I can't imagine what i'd possibly have in common with a 20 year old. Most people that age are just learning about life, and by 40, you should have it sorta figured out.

does age really matter; yes and no. There are alot of young people in the world who knows what they want out of life. A 40 year old dating a 20 year old is a nice difference but if both party are in it for the long run they both should let it be known so that way they both reasure each other. Watch who you listen to you have to be strong young or old don't let someone come along and put dout in your relationship.

I think wrinkles should match!

Seriously, I think in very rare situations will a couple with a large span of years between them work out. I can think of only one couple like that and she is a widow at 50.

I find the notion that people 40 and over are so much more likely to be mature to be humorous and best and seriously flawed at worst....it' nobody else's business what the ages are of two people who have decided to be together.

I did that when i was about 21 and my mum seemed more happier than me? I could not go to the next level in the end as i could see the age difference in the end he was 47. Older than what i am now. But he was a caring considerate gentleman he was white european since i prefer them that way - does this help?
