Breaking up isn't easy, but you can make it easier on the other person by taking these steps.

Eharmony have the best advice! My ex and I were onoff on off for a couple of years. I fell pregnant and was really excited about it. He rang and told me he had another girlfriend. Never on the phone guys. Face to face like a man, not a coward. My son is the best thing that happend to me. He is my world andmy ex'srelationship ended and now he wondering why I don't want him to be a family. My son deserves better!

I second that - these days there are so many ways to get out of a relationship in a cold way - having the class to talk with the person -- in person -- is the way to go.

This is an excellent guide for people who wish to do "the decent thing" when breaking up. Unfortunately though, not everyone does, or even wants to do the decent thing when that happens. If you have a relationship with someone who does not do the decent thing, then you are often left wondering what you ever saw in such a person in the first place. But one thing's for sure - they're a dastardly coward, and you're definitely better off without them!

Halleleujah!!.........Is it this electronic age that has suddenly made it soooo acceptable to just DELETE, BLOCK and ERASE real people from our lives. Lets try to look at this from the point of view that if they were good enough to warrant a relationship....short or long......they deserve to be treated with the same respect when it is over....FOR WHATEVER REASON!

The cold turkey part rang bells with me. It took me along time to learn that lesson.

You shouldn't have to be a decent guy to do it like the article says. I feel if the other cannot end it face to face and showing respect, we are better off without them (like another poster already said).

Be careful on burning your bridges, you never know when that burning bridge is going to burn your butt.

Until she got sceared of losing her freedom and single life, becouse of a bad break up FOUR years ago... It's ok if she is still aloud to keep her single life (which inclused a male friend which she doesn't want me to meet, but theres has not been or is anything sexul going on, ohh his married and his wife has on idea, that there meet of lunch etc and he has keys to her place) I'm I just holding on to fulse hope...
