I always like the comment, "My other date just called. I'm gonna have to take care of her for a few minutes. Be back in a few, sweetheart."

During the date, he leaned over and said in my ear "I also wanted to email you to find out what kind of underwear I should wear... boxers, briefs or a thong!"

D. None of the above ... right?

LOL TP!

I know there are women who only go by looks, just as there are men who do, but that's not everyone . . . and I think it says more about the dater than the datee if that's the case.
In my past observations, people who are "looks oriented"tend to bemore materialistic; character is generally less important to them; their relationships are usually based on the "emotional thrill factor"

When my matches close without ever communicating they cannot be basing their decision on anything other that the photos and information in the profile.
Hate to tell you, but sometimes they aren't even basing their decision on that much information. Sometimes a person will close matches because they are feeling overwhelmed, or because they ... well, let me just say here that when I started on eH, my first date with a woman went quite well. After it I closed out all the matches I had at that time (maybe 10 or 15) with the "pursuing another relationship". Two days after the date, she closed our match. Guess she didn't think it went so well.

So, yeah, sometimes it is something on your profile that prompts a close, but sometimes it is not even that much. I'll not tell you to cheer up or focus on the good, I'll just say that sometimes it isn't even anything to do with you.

After the dinner was over he said, "I hope you brought your purse. I thought we'd go dutch. I've been out of work for a while and I don't have much money."

And another one. Different guy.Second date. He bought me an expensive gift which I really liked. I politely thanked him. He replied, "Uh, can I hear an 'I love you?'"

Seriously.

Other than discussing sex, the worst thing men have said to me is "are you dissapointed?" regarding their appearance. This tells me one of 2 things.....he has a serious lack of confidence (a complete turn off) or he is well aware he looks totally different from his photo and posted it anyhow.

Newsflash to the men.......we don't care about looks nearly as much as we do about confidence.

During college, a female cousin of mine set me up on a date with her best friend - I'll give her credit for that. However, knowing my cousin's priorities in life, it didn't surprise me during the date whenthis womanlooked at me, gave me a beautiful smile and then said "buy me a BMW" out of the blue.

Another winner here.... About 10 years ago I flew back home to visit the parents. Keep in mind that I live 850 miles away from my parents. When I arrived, I found out that my mother had been talking to one of her friends and they had both arranged for me to take their daughter out and "get to know her".

I reluctantly took this woman out. We went to a nice restaurant nearby andwere havinga nice conversation. Somewhere in the conversation the topic shifted to whateach of us were looking for in dating material. That conversation was going nicely until (insert loud desired SCREECHING noise) she said "My partner HAS to make over $100,000 a year - its a sign that he knows what he wants in life".

Good f

I met a guy at an outdoor little coffee place and he walked up with a magazine that was folded open and back, as if he was reading it and waiting in the car for me to walk up. And no, I wasn't late. About 10 minutes early actually.

We went to order the coffees and he asked if I wanted to SPLIT something to eat.

SPLIT???

Long story short...before the 45 minute "date" was up, I told him very politely that I thought he was a jack*ss and i'd rather have a thumbnail ripped out than do this again.

That was right after he so very rico-suavishly asked "so...you think we have something here?"

To this day, I have NO CLUE why he asked that. The answer was pretty obvious.
lmao

LMAO. Sounds like she knew what she wanted in life. I wonder how much she made or how she would have felt if yousaidsomething like that to her.
