Firstly ...
As much as I don't like to admit it we live in a VERY superficial world, I myself like shape in a woman, Marilyn Munroe is a perfect example - but by todays standards she is considered overweight.

Secondly ...
(not sure if this has been spoken about but I'm not going to read though 37 pages worth of posts)
I myself was overweight, and I made a conscious decision to do something about it and I did, I lost 35 kgs in 7 months, Point I'm making with alittle dedication and hard work you can accomplish everything, you just have to stay positive.

How the heck did you get this out of her statement...lol?

(Men do, on average, have faster metabolisms than women because of their higher muscle mass, which burns more calories. So, yeah; it is more difficult for women over 45 to lose weight than men over 45, especially for post-menopausal women. That doesn't mean that "this" particular woman will have a more difficult time than "that" particular man, but overall it is certainly true.. )

I knew I was gonna get in trouble for dat! Hey you are right. I forgot, women have more fat on them-chest, etc. And men have more muscle, which burns calories quicker. I was grumpy last night.

I doubt if you meant it this way but to me that just reads "I don't want to be seen with a pig" and if you try to communicate to her that you won't consider her unless she loses weight then she'll probably take it the same way too.

If you're interested then go for it, if you're not then say goodbye. Don't mess with her head by suggesting that she'll have a future with you if she changes something that she may not even have much control over.

I really wish people would stop bringing up the Monroe myth every time a discussion on size comes up. The only way she would be considered overweight is in comparison to size zero anorexics. She was five and a half feet tall and weighed between 118 and 140 pounds, at her lightest she was the same size as Raquel Welch, at her heaviest only fifteen pounds heavier than Jennifer Lopez. In what universe is that overweight?
She was damn sexy then, she'd be damn sexy now.

I will gladly pay you Wednesday for a hamburger on Tuesday.

But seriously, Robert, if you are open to a work-in-progress type gal, why don't you include some active dates in your repertoire, like walks, hikes, and biking if your date does that. A lot of overweight women would love to do active dates with a BF. If you hold out for 'lil Miss Perfect you might find her, might not. Some people do odd things when their self-control and self-discipline won't allow them that potato chip, like go on wild shopping sprees. It's a good thing there's no debtor's prison or poorhouse in America. And then there's the lazy pot addicts - but I won't go there for now. (Potheads don't bathe very often).

OK, so I went there.

just to let you guys know....robert left the building about a year ago this thread keeps coming back to haunt me. I think of it as the original "overweight woman thread"

and yeah, marylion monroe IS considered overweight compared to models of today. I don't consider her overweight, but she would be kicked off the runway that is for sure...she might have a future in adult films, if she agreed to plastic enhancements and other surgeries or alterations.
