Are you going too fast? Maybe. But you can not take back what you already did. If this relationship does not work out, you will have a lesson for a future relationship. If it does, then maybe you are going at just the right speed. Good luck!

The L word was real fast. Can't take it back so no concentrate on what's next.

What are you going to say when she says it again?

I'd ask her about it. Tell her you've never had anyone use that word so fast.

From my experience I'd be real careful if you try to slow things down. She sounds like she might overreact.

L word sounds like way too fast.

I agree but what do you do when someone you care about says “I love you.”

Just sit there in silence?

Or reply “whoa there partner that too fast for me?”

It seems kind of cruel so I said “love you too” and I meant it.

If you feel uncomfortable saying the l-word, you could use humor to deflect it.

Stuff like, "Yeah,I love me too." or "Whoa, slow down, Tex, I haven't hit third gear yet." There's lots of witty remarks that you can use if that makes you nervous. I like the pardner remark you made as well (in fact I was typing it before I realized you said it already.

But that's cool that you said it back and meant it. I definitely would only want to say it when I really mean it. Though yep, I think it's moving quite fast, but it can work too.

Please please please don't pull a Mariah and get married just weeks after knowing each other. L word is one thing, and no, you can't take it back, just like sex, but do not say 'I DO'!!!!

Things did progress kinda fast and though you can't take anything you said back, nothing wrong with putting on the breaks in your action while reassuring her that while you think things need to slow down a bit, this in no way reflect any disinterest on your part, rather a chance to take things nice and slow to give it a chance to develop nice and right. You're right to say sometimes that fire burns bright and dies out quickly.

I'm so happy for you 18wht2! Best to you in your new romance!!

Wow, the L-words sounds like such a beautiful start...now you get to work on building a solid relationship through honesty and open communication. That's what"LOVE" doesfor us...makes uslike superheros in our relationships; youknow, where you thought you'd only be fearful you suddenly find courage...you become your own best atevery level... YES for LOVE!

Of course, dear, this doesn't mean it's time to start packing up and moving in if that's not honestly what you are both ready for. Keep your heart open, your feet grounded, and your head on both shoulders...enoy what you are consciously building together based on your "love/infatuation."

Best...and congrats!
