How long do you wait before doing a closeout if they are not responding?

THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THAT ONCE THEY VIEW YOU,THEY NEVER RESPOND. I THINK, IT OUGHT TO BE EH POLICY AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT YOUR AUTOMATICALLY 'POOFED' IF YOU FAIL TO EITHER RESPOND, OR CLOSE OUT A MATCH ONCE VIEWED, WITHIN 3 DAYS...


I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY PROFILE ALOT LATELY TO GET HIGHER RESPONCES. MAINLY, I'M SAYING, WHAT QUALITY OF WOMAN I'M LOOKING FOR, AND IF WERE INTERESTEDIN EACH OTHER, IWILL MEET WITHHER AFTER 3 WEEKS OF OPEN COMMUNICATION. I'M STRONGLY HINTING I DO NOT THINK IT SHOULD TAKE LONGER THAN THAT FOR TWO MATURE ADULTS.


BY THE WAY, I'M RETIRED, AND LOOKING ALL OVER THE LOWER USA. SO I GET 7 TO 9 NEW MATCHES/DAY WITH 2 TO 4 VIEWS/DAY. I'LL POST HOW I'M DOING WITH MY CHANGED PROFILE AFTER A TWO WEEK TRIAL.

1 week is a good time. If that person had a good reason for not responding, he/she will ask you to reopen.

If they don't have a photo and the profile answers are weak, they probably aren't paying members and CAN'T communicate. If they have a pic and a decent profile, but never look at yours, I'm thinking it's because they are inactive members who aren't even around anymore.


It's just such a bummer. If they saw my pic and profile and said "Not in a million years!" I would feel better than having them sit there in my Matches list and do nothing. And now, with the matches coming about once every 5 or 6 days, getting the non-paying/inactive matches is even worse.


Feels like I'd have better luck at a bar. Even if they were all drunks and jerks, at least they would maybe look at me. NOT good for my ego! [img]library/editor/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-frown.gif[/img]

Very interesting comments. I have been with EH since June. I'm located in Hawaii (Oahu) and get very few matches I can go for weeks with nothing. There must not be anyone in Hawaii on EH. I could change my settings to another location but I dont think anyone is going to go for a long term relationship. So far my time with EHhas been a disaster. I will just let this expire

Hi Everyone,


Well so far for me I have 6 matches that I have reached out to and I started with anIcebreaker. After 7 days there was nothing and then I sent questions. 3 days have passed since I decided to start communication and still nothing. I am trying to be patient like many of you said as folks could be on vacation or simply away from the computer. At the same time, I believe if someone is actively looking and has an interest in finding that special someone, then they will make every effort to check the site as often as they can. I am giving everyone the boot after the 14th day.

I don't think it's especially important....as after you have closed someone they can still request that you reopen them.

For me, it all depends upon my interest in said match.


If I was on the borderlineabout themanyway, I generally Close out pretty quick. Perhaps after a week, maybe two.


On the other hand, if I am REALLY interested in them, I will never Close them.


I will do the Nudge after perhaps a couple weeks, and then let them settle down at the bottom of my list... My thinking is, yes, they probably found someone else them deemed a better match than me, but who knows, if she and that match don't work out, she might come wandering back.

How long does it take for a subscription payment to clear? I would love to talk to some of these women, but I cant necessarily afford $60 rate for 1 month. I know someone would love to talk to me, but this stupid waiting period isnt helping.

That really sucks! I'm sorry you're all the way over there with a smaller population to choose from. Don't worry Jal, as you can see, it sucks over here on the mainland too!!
