I was a paying member a few years back and only had 3 dates. I had been thinking about re-joining but I am having second thoughts after reading all these glowing testimonials (NOT). Is it my imagination or are the commercials with the sappy couples and the "Success Stories" representative of a very small number as compared to the number of paying members????

I have so many gripes about eHarmony, I won't even bother listing them all....as most of them have already been mentioned.

I personally feel eHarmony was a HUGE waste of money (Iunfortunately joined for a year) andtruly feel I have been ripped off. Most of my matches have nothing in common with me and 90% never even view my profile which makes me wonder if they are "real" people or not. So many don't have pictures or complete profiles and many seem functionally illiterate.

Does anyone know where the e-mail address for eHarmony is? I have looked and looked and cannot find it on the web site. I would like to write them a letter to express my disdain for their site, but cannot find anywhere to send an e-mail.

What I am doing,is to tell everyone I know what a huge waste of money and timeeHarmony is....and not to believe all the ads they see or hear. I think someone should do an investigative news story on all the dissatisfied customers eHarmony currently has and if the numbers eHarmony quotes for "happily married couples" or even matches made on the site are at all accurate.

I think most of us didn't go into eHarmony thinking that we were absolutely going to meet our ideal match and live happily ever after.....but I do think that we went in thinking we were going to get more out of eHarmony than we have. Which has been very little.

How about when you have your settings to 30 miles only and you're getting multiple matches in Canada, Australia, and India (I am in North Carolina btw) and no matches for the USA. Is this what I signed up (and paid $50 dollars a month) for?
Kelly

You need to set your distance importance to no less than the two Very Important settings. If you make it anything less you start getting matches hundreds of mile away.

Even though I put that height is important to me for my matches, I keep getting matches that are 5'0" and 5'1".

what do you have against girls that are 5'1"?? are we too tall for you?

Oh, how I would like to be matched to a girl that was 5'0" or 5'1". Of course a girl that is only 5'0" has a minimum requirement for her match of 6'0" or above.

I want to know if it's possible to be matched with someone other than a gangsta girl? Not every guy likes tattos and lip piercings. While we're at it, how about someone that doesn't list drinking as one of the things you can't live with out?
You can set how important drinking is to you in your settings. If you have your settings on drinking set to not drink much and make the importance of the setting at least near Very Important you may cut down on the boozers.

they probably need to add that little disclaimer (if it's not there already) "results not typical".

this thread is confusing because some people are talking about eharmony and some are talking about eh advice.

that said

my feelings about eharmony....I still think its the best of the dating sites (not that I have checked in a long time, but I dont feel the need to). I have noticed a decline in the "quality" (I hate to use the word quality when referring to people, as all people are quality but I mean to suggest the interest level of the participants and their sincerity in pursuing a relationship) of my matches. I suspect that in the last 5 years eharmony has simply become more and more mainstream.....and lots of guys joined when they heard this is where the women are. So....we ended up with a lot of D-bags just looking for dates. It used to be that almost all of my matches were of interest, either nice looking or with cool interests, career whatever.....but now more and more of it just seems to be "filler" its just harder to find the good ones now cause there is more to sift through.

that has been my experience. as something becomes more mainstream I think that is just what happens...it becomes more like real life

So not true!! Have a look on the 'Height' thread. We aren't all looking for a tall guy.
