I realize that every relationship is different, but I'm relatively new to the online dating scene and was wondering what the typical progression is after the first date.
I've been communicating with someone through eHarmony mail for a little over a month (about once every other day). We live about an hour apart, and due to scheduling constraints we only met this past weekend. I think things went fairly well and I think we are both interested in continuing the relationship.
We have exchanged phone numbers but haven't talked on the phone yet. Should I continue to email her using eHarmony, and maybe set up another date? Or ask her if I can call one evening? Or give her my email address? Like I said, I'm relatively new to this; I want to make sure she knows I'm interested but don't want to seem pushy. A female perspective would be nice.
Thanks for the advice.

No more emailing since you already met. Now it's time for you to call her and ask her out for another date. I wouldn't make the call too long either, just a brief chat about going out again and when and where. Make sure you tell her you had a nice time meeting her and look forward to seeing her again. Have a plan for what you'd like to do on the second date before you call. I'd say call her tomorrow (Monday) so she doesn't make other plans for the weekend.

I agree with StingFan- give her a call! You won't seem to pushy. *If* you guys seem to be missing each other by phone, then try setting up a time to call via email- but SFC is right on with her advice.

All the best Hokie!

You make time for what is important to you. If there are "scheduling constraints" that cause you to not be able to meet a match for over a month when you only live an hour apart then either your match is not very important to you or you are not very important to your match or both.

If you are actually interested in dating then step up to the plate and be planning the first date within the few e-mail exchanges after reaching OC. If you have not got a date scheduled within the first week after reaching OC and can't arrange to meet sometime within the first 2 weeks after reaching OC there is a clear lack of interest by someone.

Of course there is nothing preventing the woman from initiating contact, planning a date or issuing an invitation.

As a woman, this is great advice!

After reading some of these threads, it seems the typical progression is
1. Facebook friend them.
2. Text for a few weeks.
3. Schedule another date.
4. Cancel the date.
5. Poof.

This is glacier slow.

I wouldn't feel that a guy was interested if this was the progression.

If you like her, pick up the phone and pick up the pace.
