This weekend is sacred for most American men. It’s showtime as most guys count down the days, hours, and even minutes to their favorite television day of the year, Super Bowl Sunday.
Meanwhile, across the hall, women have their own favorite holiday to think about, Valentine’s Day. With these...

The Superbowl isn't THAT important to men unless the team they root for is playing.

Wow. Truly disappointing article. The views represented therein were sexist and early 20th century. This article does nothing but further sweeping generalizations that many of us go out of our way to avoid, and it reinforces sexism.

I know many women who are passionate about the Superbowl and sports, and many men who take joy and pride in organizing a Valentine's Day surprise for their mates.

This is about the worst piece of fluff I've seen posted in a long while. The author may be an "online dating expert and best selling author," but she didn't get there writing junk like this article.

I dunno. I think there have been threads about every concern she mentioned.

"Women wait for Valentine’s Day with the hope that their special guy will either propose, offer to take his online dating profile down, or say “I love you” for the first time. Women even secretly hope that the guy they are dating might want to change his Facebook status from “Single” to “In a Relationship.”"

Valentine's day = guarenteed sex. Next best thing to a great football game, no?

it's true for me. I would break up with someone I was dating if they ignored v-day utterly and completely. anything - an email, a card, etc - is fine. but to absolutely ignore it? unacceptable.

I am over the moon that my team is heading back to the Super Bowl! I get extremely more excited about this than Valentine's Day....Even when I am dating someone...

I am just not the typical roses/chocolates and fancy restaurant type person to celebrate that day. It's really not any more special....to me....than any other day with my partner. The men I dated were thrilled to learn this about me. LOL

And to Eccentric's post....Every time my teams wins it's guaranteed sex!!! (Of course that is in regular season as well)....Thankfully my team wins a lot!..

Whew! Thanks tink. I was about to explode. I couldn't think of a response that wouldn't get me dinged with a demerit. Yours perfectly describes my feelings, as well.
