So, I'm in the grocery store. I spot an attractive Lady.

Methodically, I look for a ring. She is elusive, turning; her hands are hidden ...

She appears busy, but I am sure she would like a Kiss from the Frog. I know this.

I look in her trolley: nothing to indicate shopping for a household.

The coast apparently clear for my best pick-up-line, it dawns on me: she has about nine bags of a ready-mix salad.

Not single, I conclude. Does my conclusion seem valid?

Actually, I would think just the opposite... if she only had, let's say 2 bags of salad, then I would say she is preparing a meal for a family. 9 bags... probably her solo dinner of choice, so she's shopping for herself. Kind of like getting a bunch of microwave meals...

Not necessarily. I don't think it's an indicator of single or not single status at all. Nobody has a valid reason to buy 9 bags of ready-mix salad unless they are throwing a party. Ready-mix salad goes bad very quickly so it would be hard for even a family to get through it all before it goes bad. So, I think she was purchasing for a party.
