I have a very hard time (as in as close to impossible w/o going over) getting nekkid w/o being/getting emotionally involved.

I have on only a couple of occasions had sex w/ someone where there was a mutual sexual attraction, but knew we weren't compatible and attempted to force an emotional relationship to justify the sexual relationship, but never what I'm talking about here.

Still trying to figure out if I can do this, enjoy it for what it's worth and however long it's going to last, full-on knowing it's going to have an expiration date.
I don't think it's really something you can "try" to do. It just sort of happens once in a blue moon when all stars align correctly and you meet someone where the sexual chemistry and tension is out of this world, but some other issues are present.

Like you might be on vacation abroad and have a hot fling, but you both know that you are going to go home and it will all just be a warm fuzzy memory of an incredible vacation. It's really a combination of allowing yourself to get lost in that passion while not feeling guilty about it and trying to apply the social norms of "I'm not that kind of girl." Basically, it's about owning the moment and what you are doing.

Situations like these are great when the sex is great. They're a mistake when the sex is bad or subpar and subsequently one party pulls the emotional card out of nowhere as a means to compensate for poor performance.

You can't stop looking for what you really want with these kinds of things. You will end up regretting the lost time later but not the experience (if that makes sense).

I have. I dated a man whose company I enjoyed, sex was good, but I knew it wasn't going to lead to anything long term. We had a good few months. After that point, we had "the talk" and decided to part ways. It was very adult and amicable. I actually learned a lot about dating and myself through seeing him.

I don't think every partner needs to be someone who you envision yourself marrying. Sometimes, you can just take comfort in enjoying one another's company...even if it's only for a short period of time.

I think that can only work if you're in a situation where you'll never have to see each other again. I would think that seeing that person again would bring up all sorts of uncomfortable feelings.

I did have a couple dates with someone over the summer where although there was a lot of physical attraction, there were issues. I just went along with it, knowing that it probably wasn't going to last. She poofed, but I had a great time.

It would seem that my answer should be yes

Since I don't approach any first date expecting that there will even be a second, every date I have had has met your description

It depends on the situation.......

Not that I have done this...

but say I was on some trip (like a cruise) and I met someone and we had fun without thinking of the long term of it.

I this was someone who I just met or a coworker and we both were open from the start that this wasnt long term I would be ok with it.

If I felt this wasnt going to work while she though differently then I wouldnt want to continue it.
