Smoker = never, but photos of hookah in profile

Ok - I am a fairly new user to EH so maybe someone can explain this to me. A member sent me a request to answer 5 questions, and I did (before looking at all the posted photos). After I looked at all the photos, more than half of them were photos of the person smoking from a hookah pipe, but in their profile they say smoker = never. I noticed the same thing with another member smoking cigars in their profile but they said never as well.

Occasional cigars in a partner are not a deal breaker for me, but I assume a hookah is tobacco or pot?

Not sure what to think about this.

It sounds like weed has dulled their mind.

If they look very sexy, or sound very funny (or better, both) they may be worth meeting.

But, they clearly lie like a superpac, and are surely not the safest choice of partner.

Think large glass water pipe with multiple hoses to suck the smoke from. There are now Hookah parties. It can be used to smoke pot, tobacco and other herbs or stuff sold specifically for Hookahs.

If someone puts never smokes but then posts photos of themselves smoking I think they are fooling themselves or trying to include themselves in the match results of more people than they normally would be if they listed their true smoking preferences. If you are interested in these people otherwise I would communicate but ask them directly what their smoking preferences are.

Yes, it's like a fancy looking huge bong.

I have noticed at least 50%+ of folks profiles talk about honesty and wanting to find someone truthful in their "what i'm looking for" yet people can't even be honest with themselves about even the most basic of things.

FWIW when I traveled in the Middle East, hookahs (smoking flavored tobacco out of a large glass bong) is pretty normal. Most people do it and would never touch a cigarette. Maybe he's just traveled extensively?

If it was all fancy looking it could have been from a Hookah bar, they tend to pop up in areas around colleges and a lot of "hipsters". I know of a lot of people that go to a hookah bar on occasion, but they are not smokers. Is it miss leading; yes, but I seriously doubt they are there every day
