In my age group and older if you were to cull for attractive tail fins you'd be left with a whole tank full of nothin'. Important to adjust your culling standards as the age of the koi increases. Odd that longevity is the goal yet only youth is appreciated.

Yea....I hate to 'carp' on a topic...but I could tell from the start that this 'smelt' like a red 'herring' of the good guy vs. the bad guy story.

I always took OP to mean Original Post. In post 18 I quoted his Original Post and what I took it to mean. Now, if you somehow got 'good guy-bad guy' out of post 1, then by all means point it out to me, because I don't see it.

My goal here is to keep the water safe for everyone!

It's just ...I've seen too many post where the female fish is looking for a LTR, and gets netted by someone who is not what they pretend to be. My friend is saying we keep too many bad fish. He's saying we don't uphold the standards that we pretend to follow. How could you cull or tag those serial offenders?
This is a community tank and I'd like to protect the rights of all. That's why I'm casting for community input.

No, not the ones I have been exposed to. Though there ate always exceptions.
