Add several shots to those beers and he might not even remember that he was honest. No resentment later, win/win.

Don't you guys get a bit tired of all these articles implying that the only way to get an honest answer out of you is to tread so gingerly on eggshells it borders trickery?

Tell me the truth........if asked by a girl whom you like but you don't love eternally something along the lines of "where is this relationship going?" What would you say? Would you tell her the truth or tell her what you think she wants to hear?

I haven't bothered to read the article.

However, why should there be a "magic" attitude for the man to be honest?

Being honest should be a given in any situation romantic, business or otherwise.

LDJ,

I feel if someone takes time with me, they deserve to know why I wont take the time with them. People waste so much of others time on this planet, I would feel a bit inhumane to contribute to someone else's loss of time. It is one thing that is guaranteed not to be given back.

I tell people the truth. (I can't be bothered to make stuff up, and I have no idea what someone "wants to hear" anyway - if they want something, they need to come out and state that.)

Regarding your specific wording, "love eternally" is not a decision criteria for me, and I might point that out as well, if I thought it necessary.
