I signed up for PerfectMatch.com and the next day I got a message from them saying USER REJECTED. I never got a explanation. I went out on Google to find a multitude of posts saying its a SCAM, full of ghost profiles, No Refunds, etc. I didn't give them any money or credit card info. I was surprised to see the bad responses because they claim 11 million members so how could this be? All the press they use about being mentioned on Oprah, and Dr.Phil is all 4 or 5 years old so I dunno what to think. I know sites like Classmates.com use the ole trick of saying they're free to get you to fill out the INFO then when you get inside they say you have to PAY to talk to anyone. So then you leave, but they KEEP all your info as "bait" for the next victim. I think Facebook put them out of business now. None of the sites want you to know who is a Paying member and who isn't.

I think I looked at PerfectMatch a couple of years ago and didn't like what I saw in terms of how it worked.

Match. keeps sending me winks from good-looking men. And, when I click on their profile -- POOF, they seem to have disappeared and here are some other guys I might like to investigate instead.

Lame.

Hmmm. So if that is the case then I shouldn't spend too much time with a profile until I know they can respond right? Just quick response to get a reaction?

Please explain to me how this works. I have heard repeated claims that Match does this. I have been on Match since May, though my profile has been hidden more than available for most of that time for one reason or another and this has never happened to me.

Is your profile active or hidden? Are you a paid member? Do you get notifications through your phone or is it e-mail? What happens when you click on the wink?

Thanks in advance for the explanation!

Those winks are from fake users of the Nigerian sort. The profiles are removed fairly quickly as they are reported by other users.

Happened to me so much that I changed my account settings to not even bother sending me an email when I get winked at.

You're not missing a thing.
