It's been too long since our last recap and I also want to hear how everyone on the eastside fared this past weekend with Irene, so away we go!

Let us know what dates you've had recently, how they went and if you were in the affected area, please let us know how the hurricane impacted you (hopefully not very much!!!)

I'm preparing for an upcoming trip with the guy I'm seeing (our first...yikes!) and although I was free and clear from Irene this past weekend, lots of family and friends back in New York did endure the storm but fortunately no one was hurt and no major property damage was sustained by any of my peeps - so I am feeling very lucky indeed!

I had so much water the Weeds are now up to my neck, and now I have Mushrooms growing in my yard!

I am sort of on the east coast and I did not get much rain no wind and I did not partake of any worry wine.

Of course I did not have any dates either.

Had a meet with a nice enough guy, but he was pretty scruffy & I just couldn't work up much enthusiasm.

I actually had a date this weekend - with a poofer who suddenly reappeared. Yeah, I was skeptical after he disappeared for a month, but curious enough to see what he was doing back. We had only had one date, back in June, then he kept in touch for a few weeks until he poofed in mid-July. OK, then....

But, he emailed me out of the blue last week, then showed back up chatting with me on Yahoo messenger (I had deleted him, but he apparently kept me in his list). I said that I was kind of surprised to hear from him, and he said "Don't be surprised, I like you". (Hmmm... Funny, I didn't really get that vibe when you poofed on me! )

Anyway, we made plans to go out again on Saturday. He made a reservation at a new restaurant, then after dinner, he suggested seeing a movie, so we went to see "My Idiot Brother" (such a bad movie! I can't remember the last time I saw a movie this bad. But, he said he really liked Paul Rudd, so that was his first choice).

After the movie, we sat and talked for while, then he just sort of said "Good night" and gave me a hug and that was it. Well... so much for giving poofers a second chance.

But... then he called later to say how he really liked hanging out with me, and hoped we could do it again. (Don't ask, I don't know what is going on with this guy either...) I said I did, too, and he said we would talk later. I had no idea if I would actually hear from him again, but then he texted me later that night to see how I made out with the storm. We texted a bit, and I asked if he wanted to go into the city this coming weekend (Labor Day weekend) but he said he was going out of town. I suggested a rain check and he said "You can hold me to that". Really, I am not "holding him" to anything, because he is sort of like nailing Jello to the wall, but he is cute, and interesting, so I say What the heck? I've got nothing much else going on at this point, datewise, so I'm just taking things one step at a time. If he calls me, he calls me. If we go out again, we go out again. If he poofs again... well, that's it then. I do have some standards!
