"When are we meeting up" has a sense of desperation behind it.... I like "I can't wait to meet you". But at the same time, I sent him an email and suggested meeting up. I've yet to receive a reply.

I may be closing communication soon because it's gone on too long and my patience has been tried! :-)

Went out with the girls last night and with the number of locals that approached me I realize that I still got it, so I'm not that worried!!

I wouldn't say desperation so much as running out of patience. I think I've had something like that said to me twice and both times the message was pretty clear and I reacted quickly. I'm really not all that slow about things, but, some people want things to move right away.

I read 'can't wait to meet you' as being predictable and cheesy. but hey, you're the one posting a thread asking for advice and then saying "when are we meeting up?" sounds desperate so you must be an expert then? that's why you posted the thread! and me? I know what I'm talking about, that's why you don't see me posting threads asking how to get dates.

for your information "when are we meeting up?" has worked numerous times whereas receiving am email or text saying "I can't wait to meet" just appears as someone who is passive and can't be bothered to ask a real question.

Come now. "When are we meeting up?" is just as predictable and cheesy. It's also just as good of a suggestion. If she tries to go ultra creative and hilarious with every single sentence, dude is going to think she's a kook.

if a man (or woman) is interested it doesn't matter how cheesy the comment is, they will respond in a positive way. I suspect both the men she's been emailing with are time wasters. a "I'm naked and ready for you" would probably be useless with them.

The critical issue is not how the desire to meet is phrased, but that a plan is established and enacted (by both people.)

If no timing is yet on the table - and especially if one person is dawdling - then StevemanchesterEngland has the right idea.

If a plan is already in the works - with specifics - then "can't wait" is the better phrasing.

Dating services are for dating; pen-pal services are for finding pen-pals.

Class dismissed!

UPDATE:

So, we finally started texting (why can't we just talk on the phone?). Either way, the texts were one liners / one word texts and my patience is no longer existent and my interest has since dissipated.

This morning I received a text to him that he got a DUI a few nights ago and "The clock begins to tick today and the next several months are going to be super tough for me to set something up because of court dates, and no transportation, etc. Please keep me in your prayers. God Bless"

That was my final straw. I texted him back and I expressed I am no longer interested. And now I'm a woman who doesn't know God and I'm not understanding and a horrible person!

Sheesh, with some people you just can't win! haha.

Thanks advice community. You've all been awesome.
