I can't make this stuff up. The guy I mentioned here before, who I've never met, and texted to tell me I was "stacked" and who then asked me via text if I shaved bare (apparently that's a bad thing in his world) and, when I refused to answer, told me I wasn't sexual and if I'd just relax maybe he'd like me. Oh, and who then texted me another day to invite me out for drinks, and when I said no, he said that was too bad because 4 times out of 5, afternoon drinking leads to sex and I missed out...

well, guess what? I picked up a copy of a local magazine over the weekend and he was listed as one of the most eligible bachelors in the city.

even better was the opening paragraph to the story - "if you've become cynical about dating, check out these men. they are proof that good guys still exist."

ha ha ha ha ha

I think I need to contact the editor to tell her that her screening method leaves something to be desired.

Maybe he took her out for 'afternoon' drinks...

Scully don't get laughed out of the room which will happen if you try to do anything. You never met this guy and only talked to him online. You have no idea what he is really like in real life. People often act different online then in real life. You won't have much to say when they ask you how well you know him and all you have to say is 'well I've never actually met him.'

Is he running for office? I hear that this is a prerequisite!

lol! thinker, I am NOT going out with him! I didn't even give him my new cell number when I changed phones last week. and I closed him out on EH.

trek, funny!

NYC, you are soooo right!

I was kidding about contacting the editor. but she knows me. I'm a well-known writer in town. just no point in saying anything after it's published. more of a funny story now than anything else.

You know we are all googling the 'most eligible bachelor' articles published in the last two weeks and using the quote you included to check him out now, right?

Looking at those that are in office and / or have been in office it would seem that this is certainly true. And with what I have seen so far of what is going to be available in 2012 it would appear that this trend is going to continue.

Is it one of those magazines that heavily advertise local businesses? If so, then that guy probably is an advertiser, and the magazine just picked him as an eligible bachelor to boost his ego/keep him buying ad space. Either way, I doubt they ran any background check and there must be a disclaimer somewhere in the fine print. Sorry this happened to you.
