I think I've come across something new in the online dating world. Everything was going along fine. I filled out my profile and included photos. I received communication and sent communication to matches. And, we would set up a time and place to meet.

But, now in the days leading up to the first meeting, they start texting me every day or night. At first I thought the texts were to keep me engaged and interested until the date. But, in the last few weeks, men have literally been asking me to take a photo of myself with my phone that minute and send it to them. Yet, I never asked them about the photos in their profile ever.

At that point I cancel the date. But, why are these men willing to ruin the chance at a relationship, because they can't hide how imortant a woman's appearance is to them? Why don't they just wait a few days for the date to find out?

Note: This has only happened so far with men older than me.

I've experienced similar to yourself and also cancelled meeting them.

I think it has more to do with the fact that men (women too) are getting frustrated meeting women in person who don't look like their photos (i.e., weigh more, are older, etc.).

Yes, ma'am. I even had one ask me to take a picture of myself holding today's newpaper.

Wow!..that is crazy DD...

I understand that there are people who have been untruthful with their photos...but I'm not going to cater to some guy's angst about meeting me and lump me into others who happened to do this...

Sorry...but that would make me say no thanks to meeting them and move on.

I've also had women ask for "more photos" and in that instance I told them if they wanted more photos of me they were welcome to take them when we meet!
