Hey,
First two dates went we'll, I'm calling tomorrow to arrange a 3rd. She doesn't do dinner - some weird diet thing. Needs to be evening, or I'm waiting until the weekend. I'm thinking Seattle Symphony Orchestra, but I'd like a Plan B and Plan C.

Orchestra's good, if she's into classical or modern, whatever they're doing ... but perhaps add time in before or after, since otherwise you just sit next to each other and are not supposed to talk. A walk? Drinks after? Tough with someone who doesn't eat.

Art galleries? If there are any openings this week, they stay open late for that, and they're fun.

What does this lady like? What do you like?

The problem with the Symphony, or a movie, or a play or anything like that, is that you are still in the "getting to know you" stage, and here you are sitting silently staring ahead for 2 hours, and there is little time for interaction with your date.

I can't wait for the local drive in to open for the summer, because I think that would be a great place for a date. You are inside your own car, so you don't have to just watch the movie. And, I went to a country line dance bar recently with a friend, and I thought that would be a great place to take a date. And, just so you know, I hate country music. But there was a live band, and they have a lesson at the beginning, and I think that would make a fun date.

Is there anything she has mentioned enjoying during your dates that you like to do as well? A hobby or an interest? I usually find that the best place to start. If she's mentioned liking the Symphony or expressed an interest in going, I agree that could be a good choice but as others have mentioned, it is not really a date that allows you to get to know one another so also thinking of something you could do before or after that could allow you to talk would be a good choice.

Yes, she says she likes classical music. I'm thinking maybe meet up for coffee before it starts. But again, I'm also thinking about other options...

It's festival season here in Houston, and there is an Art festival or music festival almost every weekend. Have you looked at citywide schedules for those types of activities? Much more casual than the symphony - which is awesome, but, as Mitchell pointed out, limits opportunities to chat.

We ended up going for the orchestra. Hope it's OK. Last time I took a girl out for classical music, I decided I didn't want to see her again
