This is by far, the best eH article yet. I second everything they say. There is no such thing as a bad relationship, unless it is so dysfunctional as to be damaging. I learn something from everyone I've known.........and yes when dealing in the on line world, everyone deserves more than just 2 or 3 dates before "writing them off."

When I first read this article, I thought 6 DATES ?!?!?!?!? I'm supposed to go on 6 dates with this guy?!? But, then I read the next sentence:

But if you find him pleasant enough, look past the initial lack of fireworks and simply spend time with him on a get-to-know-you basis.
OK, I can deal with that. But, the article says you should give every guy the 6 date chance. Even the ones that you don't ever want to kiss you, or the ones that just really drive you crazy with their weird mannerisms, or the ones that you face uncomfortable silences with.

I can see giving it 6 dates with a guy that is "OK" or "nice", but not firework-y. But, after at least a couple of dates, there is most likely going to be kissing involved, and if that is just not happening, 6 dates is a stretch. Not to mention the people who expect to have sex by the 3rd date...

Two or three dates before getting written off Wow I only usually got a first date before I was written off.

Sex by the third date? Sex is the first date, imho.

Pisto...I think you are desparate now given the time on the ship.....

Its not going to happen on the first date if you want this to go anywhere other than a one night stand.

I was itching to get out of my last date. So when I read six dates I couldn't even imagine giving my last date 6 more minutes.
Also I am going to do that list thing because I do find myself dating the same old Joes.
