I'm seeing lots of new faces here on the boards lately, so time for another newbie roll call -- I'd also like for our lurkers to step into the spotlight and say Hi

Please introduce yourself, tell us where you are in your dating life or relationship, and give us one interesting fact about you.

I'll start!

My name is Lori. I manage eHarmony's online Communities, we have four including our Advice site here (the others are for weddings and babies!).

I am dating someone for just over 2 months now, we met through a mutual friend. Things are going pretty well so far

Interesting fact...eHarmony's offices are moving to Santa Monica, so I have decided to follow them and move out of the San Fernando Valley, where I've lived for almost 16 years now and go "over the hill" into Los Angeles proper. I'm excited to have a change of scenery and am looking forward to spending lots of time at the beach (especially AFTER the winter, when it warms back up out here!). I move this weekend, am SO excited

Hi,

I'm Harry, and I'm a newbie!

I'm an Electrical Engineer, and I work for an electrical consulting office, also in the San Fernando Valley (High Five Lori!). I frequent these (and other) forums way too often for my boss to be happy about it if he ever found out, BUT! here's to hoping he doesn't!

Not really dating anyone (exclusively) at the moment, so nothing to note there.

Interesting fact: I tend to fall asleep at my desk if I have nothing better to do... hence the forum frequenting to keep me awake I'd probably fall asleep behind the wheel if I were bored there as well, so I have developed driving habits that are... well... let's just say they keep me awake.

Oh, and as my picture suggests: I like playing the guitar. I picked it up 2 years ago, and am basically self-teaching, and absolutely loving it!

My name is Rebecca. I am 23yo, vet assistant, and going to school for zoology.

Dating life: I have been single since December after ending an engagement. Dated a few people here and there since then. Right now trying to narrow down a few people.

Interesting fact: I interned this summer in South Africa working at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I got to baby sit two cheetah cubs and a baby black rhino every day. It was amazing! I was there during the world cup but we had no TV so didn't get to see a single game lol.

I'm Bill1104 and I do a lot more lurking than posting.

I must admit I'm having difficulty learning the acronyms used by the posters. Most of which I can figure out on my own, i.e. it took a while to learn that OP meant the "original poster." Can anyone tell me what a GC and a OC refers to?

I looked for an "acronym dictionary" but couldn't find one. Is there such a thing?

I'm glad you're having fun self-teaching on guitar, I started not long ago but am flailing. Hopefully after I'm settled from my move I can pick it up again.

Now, minimize this window for at least 5 minutes and get some work done so we don't get you in trouble with the boss.

Wow, a Zoologist! I'm impressed, that South Africa internship sounds AMAZING! Did you see any giraffe while you were there? Those are my favorite wild animals, they are just SO cool.

Welcome to you all...

Bill...You will see quite a few acronyms on here...some are from Eharmony, and others are just 'text' speak...which I am learning as well being a 40 something...LOL..

GC stands for Guided Communication within the EHarmony back/forth with a match...And then OC is Open Communication which is the end step..as well as emails with the EH process...

I was away for awhile and happy to be back with all the fun folks here...We are an honest, respectful, funny, and sometimes blunt group of people..but it's all about trying to learn things from one another and help each other where we can
