This article caught my eye today:

The Six Worst Things You Can Say to a Guy - MSN Relationships - article

Ladies, have you ever said this to one of your dates? If so, did anything bad happen as a result?

Gentlemen, what do you think of these "no-no" statements, do you agree?

Finally, from both sides - what are some things you should ever say to a woman?

Every dating what to do/what not to do article I read leads me to one question....how old are these people? Cause I swear the answers indicate an emotional IQ of 18 (says the 38 year old with an emotional IQ of 20 sometimes.)

Err.....

I think we can pretty much accept I say a lot of off the wall things that most would take the wrong way. I have never said one thing on that list and even worse can't imagine why anyone would. That is not good. Not good like the warning labels that tell you not to blow dry your hair in the bathtub because you know someone did it and that is why it is on the warning label.

I really can't think of anything I would be backhandedly offended by. Chick with B of A customer service yesterday was kinda strange but not offensive. How's the weather where you are at?, perky voice for seven in the evening. I don't know I have been in the office since six this morning. Well you sure are lucky you have a job with this economy!, same perky voice. Err, thanks? Meh, maybe I should start a thread about it instead of throwing it out here but that is a strange comment right?

I do agree. But, my question is..is it going to prevent women from making those statements? My answer is no. It is impossible to live life worrying what to say or not say when dealing with people. There will always be something said that is going to offend someone, put someone off and so forth. I am more concerned about how someone can deal with a lil adversity and whether they have enough emotional strength to get over themselves and think about the greater picture.

I don't know for every woman is different. Not every woman is stuck on herself and self absorbed. Not every woman is hypersensitive. I think men need to be themselves and treat a woman how he would like to be treated. The more he knows a woman and the more comfortable the acqaintanceship, the more one can open up and be adventuous with language. Just use common sense and common courtesy and things should work out well.

What article interested me was the one on Deadspin on that Duke's Karen Owen. Wonder how many women did stuff like that because men dont do that.

I have heard a few of these in my dating lifetime..

I got the don't be silly recently.. when I suggested ice-skating as a date. It was middle of summer and 95 degrees.. I was thinking "cool" place to spend a few hours!

- Pull over now...I'm driving!

- Put down the ranch dressing and back away slowly!

- Do you really need another pair of shoes?

- That long sweater doesn't hiding anything..

- Not tonight I have a headache.

The driving thing...definitely! Never say that to me. I love my sports car and no one drives it but me.

Sigh....I wish my dates would ask that. The few times I've suggested, I did not get called silly, but refused nonetheless.
