well, one's more personal..and the other isn't.
One can send an email and then not have to worry about the phone being picked up...like a text.
Those are about the only differences, though.

well, i get that. but i mean the result is the same whether you call or email, and if you have a no-call policy (for whatever reason) then i don't understand why you are allowing yourself to email.

i guess im confused.

Because she may have the no call policy for those reason I stated....fear of the phone being picked up.
It's fairly common I think.
Otherwise I agree, doesn't make much difference, or sense.

Can I just admit that there is not one single fibre of my being that understands this - this (self-edit) mindset?
"I have strict I don't call them after the first date policy".
Why?????? What am I missing??? We are all human beings trying to find effective ways to communicate our wants and needs and wishes to each other, and yet half of us go into dating with doors already shut. I am just baffled.

She's talking about making an exception to her rule or rationalizing it as not being covered by said rule since the rule technically is about calling not contact or whatever.

Lizzie, you know you want to send the message, so just send it already instead of letting it run around your mind for a few hours then sending it anyhow.

If its driving you crazy then I guess you can, but, and I hate to say this, if he felt the same way he would have contacted you....

I just don't feel comfortable calling a guy in the early stages of a potential relationship. Fear of voice mail (code for not interested). Fear of looking desperate or clingy. Working under the assumption that guys like to be the one to call first.

Anyway, that's my rule. Ordinarily, it works for me when I don't really have a strong yea or nah opinion on the guy. If he calls, great. If he doesn't, whatever.

But this one....I really want to see him again.

Soooo.....since I'm not comfortable calling is emailing appropriate?

My radars gone wonky on me, Tracy. I used to be able to tell if a guy will call or not. Now, the ones I figure won't do and the ones I thought would don't.

He walked me back to the metro stop. We talked for a bit. He said the standard we should do this again, I'll call you.
