I think it's a good idea to spread the wealth and explore dating options.

I am on Match and dabble at Craigslist.
Dating guru, Dr Diana Kirschner, author of the best selling, Love in 90 Days, encourages people to register on, at least, two dating sites and to make the date quest a 'daily priority'.
Bottom line? I say: Lighten up, enjoy the game and make friends. Plus: Be careful out there.

I am slowly becoming less convinced this is a good idea. Right now I've turned off matching on eH and Match.com because my backlog of interesting matches is more than I can keep up with even doing 2-3 first meets per week. I will not be renewing both sites at the end of this month.

As an aside - how is Craigslist? Are you male or female, and how large a city do you live in? I've heard such mixed reviews of that site and had questionable results investigating it myself.

Of course it's a good idea, especially if you are on eH, which moves at the speed of peanut butter being poured out of a jar.

Craigslist, I will never use it, I'd rather go back to POF plenty of flakes..

Match.. it's okay, but old news

Personally I think OKC is the best site out there right now, and the fact that it's free, makes it even better. The site is up-to-date technology wise, and is basically a combination of all the others I mentioned.

Never purchase a membership for more than 3 months on any site. I will rotate between various sites to keep it fresh.

Multiple sites may work for you but I find that keeping up with just eHarmony matches to be a full time job.

As for Craigslist, I had heard that they have removed their personal advertisements.

My experience on OK Cupid is very similar to POF (no communication) except that my matches are much heavier and way older than I am. It seems to be the place for the 60 and up crowd.

Actually just the opposite, it's a place for the youts!

For me...I have IRL and EH...and that is plenty to stay busy...

This last year has been my 'get back into flirting' mode each day...which took quite a few years after my divorce to get into the swing of things again...

So..I enjoy IRL for my first choice..then EH for my second choice..

No offense to others...but Match and Craiglist all seem too easy to just put anything you want on there...at least with EH...the one's who are paying like me...there is a lot of effort and time put into the initial stages so the outcome has been more matches who are truly looking for a ltr...

Again..just my thoughts and kudos to others who have used the others to find people..

Which is why I get lots of traffic from the college boys who are cougar shopping. I enjoy OKC, but after a year I have only met one guy in person. Most of my interesting and interested matches are too far away.
POF was an absolute waste of time for me. EHA has provided me with six months worth of first dates.
Match, for my location and age, has been by far the most successful.

I agree with you that it does take more time and effort on eH, but that is due to the way the site works.

The biggest misnonmer about eH is, it's a relationship site for people looking for LTR's..Not true at all (great marketing job though! ) between the commercials and FCW's. the site is a bigger mix of casual daters and hook up artist than it used to be.

Other posters have experienced this as well, but most of my matches on eH, are also on other sites. Which cracks me up, a few of them, either never viewed me or replied to me
on the other site, but sent me their first questions on eH. Go figure!

OKC is the reason why I have three different dates lined up this weekend. Of course, I'm with the younger crowd... On Match, I often had 40-year-olds contacting me. On OKC, it's 21-year-olds!

There's definitely something for everyone, though. Shop around. Especially the free sites! (Go, OkCupid! Zero dollars is the best rate around!)
