text of profile on a dating for older 50+ site (that I surely must have taken leave of my senses to have ever joined ) sent me a message.

"I am interested in you"

This one takes the cake sez Capt. Obvious.

Are we gold digging yet

" A little about me...
Am single and searching for a serious life partner to spend the rest of my life
with, an elderly and serious man... Age does not bother me what matter most is
true love and car.. pls no games "

She was at least discreet enogh NOT to mention $$$$$$$$. I will give her that. Rest of the message was delivered with typical Nigerian sledgehammer subtlety.....

She claims to be 30 y o and the pic's are blatant digusting and sleazy.

Tal about the Anti Viagrag, eeek it has arrived. LOL (kinda)

Cries out with a quiet intensity, or shall we say, with a noisy relaxed quality
for a thread on eharmony advice to ask how can I ignore this stuff or make it go away?

I couldn't sleep all night, got up this morning and vomited etc.

With all due respect, you really should avoid the internet entirely if you're so sensitive that one e-mail from an anonymous stranger keeps you up at night and causes you to be physically ill hours later.

Alternately, delete it and move on with your life. Yes, there are gold diggers on the internet. Don't let the terrorists win

It's only there because there is a market for it.

I know it always helps me.

And you know what, OP - it's just part and parcel of the great cyber-pick-up bar that is internet dating. Unfortunate but true.

Remember the advice you gave me when I hit my speed bump on the internet dating fast lane? Go on dates, lots and lots of dates.

So when are you picking me up, in your Benz?

it works both ways.

I've told this story before, but i was contacted by a 70 year old guy on Match whose age preferences were 18-30, and his profile was full of hints that he would financially assist a woman if she was intimate with him.

his message indicated that even though his top age limit was 30, he would make an exeception for me because i still looked pretty good.

yay.
