This girl and I have known each other for about 9 months now we dated for a little bit when we first met then stopped dating and dident see each other for about 2 months then we sort of started over as just friends, I feel we have really connected a lot more because of that.

the last month and a half we have become a little more then just friends we started hooking up one night at a party and then we hooked up a few times sober as well and recently we just went out on a date(even though we dident officially call it that it defiantly was) and it went really well (she even texted me telling me she had a great time before I even got home). Now I know she likes me and she knows I like her, I like the way things are going but I would like to be in a relationship with this girl.

I haven't been in a relationship sense high school, when you just straight up ask her to be your girlfriend, So I don't really know how to go about this. Should I just see if things naturally progress or should I ask her if she wants to be in a relationship or how she feels? Any ideas?

I'm going to assume hooked up means sex, or similar intimacy.

Anyways as for the relationship thing. The key thing, is that both of you want the relationship. If both of you don't, then it will never happen, and nothing you do will change her mind.

So, how do you do that? You communicate.

But before you do, ask yourself why you want to be in a relationship. And be honest with yourself. Some people want the relationship for control reasons more than anything else. And once they have it, they realize there is no control, and the relationship never really existed.

So, once you figure out what you truly want, you then communicate that to your date. If she concurs, you have a relationship, if not, you don't.

You say "Do you want to be my girl friend?

or "Are we a couple? "

or "do you want to be a couple"

Tell her you really like her and you are glad the relationship has progressed to the place it has, ask her how she feels about it, then talk about exclusivity, if she feels good about the way things are going and wants it to be an exclusive relationship, then you pretty much have your answer. Time will reveal the rest.

I like "So, is there an us?"

I don't believe that hooking up is always physical intimacy.

Give her flowers or if you are young and poor a flower. Tell her that it is "Just because I was thinking of you!"

Those high school kids weren't always so stupid, this is the best thing to do, communicate what you want, a relationship.
